About the Artist
Hi, I’m Carly. I’ve been creating art for over 20 years, specializing in realistic portraiture that captures the essence of people, animals, and the moments that matter most. My work is a mix of traditional pencil, painting and digital techniques, allowing me to explore both precision and imagination in every piece. I love creating art that draws people in, whether it’s a black-and-white pencil portrait or a colorful acrylic scene. While I primarily paint on stretched canvas, I enjoy experimenting on any surface I can.
Art has always been a constant in my life. My mother is an incredible artist, and I learned a lot from her as a child, though I’m otherwise self-taught. My dad was always my biggest fan, helped me see my value and has bought many pieces i've created. I grew up in Yukon, Canada, hold a degree in psychology, and am a mom to two amazing kids! For a few years, I worked as a tattoo artist, but life eventually steered me in a different direction.
To me, art is more than a skill—it’s a way to connect, inspire, and remind us of what we love. I believe every portrait tells a story, and my goal is to create work that evokes emotion, sparks curiosity, and brings a sense of comfort and joy. Turning art into a side business has been a dream, and I love creating new pieces every day.
